It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Rajkummar Rao is slaying and owing 2024. The most power-packed performer kickstarted the year with ‘Srikanth’ followed by ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, and interestingly, both the films have minted moolahs at the box office, solidifying the fact that this year belongs to Rao. The back-to-back success has not only proven Rao to be a powerful performer, but it has already made him a strong and popular contender for awards.

In ‘Srikanth’, Rao effortlessly portrayed the role of blind industrialist Srikanth Bolla, while ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ highlighted his acting prowess. Both the films validated his position as the most versatile performer in Bollywood as well as ended the dry spell at the box office. While ‘Srikanth’ crossed Rs 50 crore mark, ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ had set a new personal record for Rao as it earned Rs 6.85 crore on its first day, surpassing his previous blockbuster ‘Stree’ which had opened with Rs 6.82 crore.

The success of these films also highlights why Rao is considered Bollywood’s most reliable and bankable star, as well as an economically viable actor for producers. With two more releases lined up this year, Rao is set to continue the streak of his box office win. He will reprise his role as ‘Vicky’ in the upcoming horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’, and he will share the screen with Triptii Dimri for the first time in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’. Additionally, Rao has several other intriguing projects in the pipeline, which he will announce soon.
