Sudhir Yaduvanshi’s Special Message for Team India Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025 | His Cricket Journey with Gautam Gambhir & More”

Sudhir Yaduvanshi is a powerhouse of talent, known for his incredible versatility as a singer and performer. With a repertoire of hit songs such as Kaawaa Kaawaa, Shambhu, Rang Hai Ri, Cha Chadeya, Bam Bhole Bam, Main Fariyadi, Jeena Nai Jeena, Image Banayenge, Layi Vi Na Gayi, Sukoon Ban Gaya, and many more, he has firmly established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

However, what many might not know is that before dedicating his life to music, Sudhir had a deep passion for cricket. In fact, he played alongside some of India’s finest cricketers, including former Indian cricketer and current national team coach Gautam Gambhir, as well as Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, and several others. When asked about his connection to cricket, Sudhir shared:

Sudhir Yaduvanshi’s Cricket Journey – From Nets with Gambhir to Musical Stardom

“I have been playing cricket since childhood, and at one point, I even dreamt of pursuing it professionally. However, cricket is an expensive sport, and the competition is immense. Coming from a lower-middle-class background, affording even a basic cricket kit was beyond my reach, let alone academy fees. But my love for the game was unwavering, so I found ways to keep playing.

One such way was by playing on behalf of wealthy kids who wanted their names to progress in the cricketing circuit but didn’t have the skill to do so. Essentially, skilled players like me would play under their names, allowing them to advance while we earned money in the process. For example, if a rich businessman’s son wasn’t talented enough but wanted his name to go forward, players like us would be brought in to play under their identity.

Playing with Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma, and Praveen Kumar

As for practice sessions, I had the privilege of training with some of the best in Indian cricket. I often practiced alongside bowlers like Praveen Kumar, Parvinder Awana, Ishant Sharma, and Joginder Sharma. Their practice sessions would take place around us, and I would play alongside them. I even had the chance to bowl to Gautam Gambhir during net sessions as part of throwdowns. In matches, we often found ourselves on the field together—Ranji and Grade A players included. However, I was always playing under someone else’s name, never my own. It was a unique experience and a lot of fun.”

He further reflected on his journey, saying:

“Cricket will always be my first love, but I believe destiny had other plans for me. In this lifetime, I was meant to be a singer rather than a cricketer. My mother used to lovingly call me ‘Sachin Tendulkar’ because I idolized him so much. Even now, no matter where I am—whether traveling or performing—I never miss an Indian cricket match.

With the Champions Trophy just around the corner, I believe we have a strong squad capable of winning. If they play to their full potential, they can bring glory to the country once again. I extend my best wishes to Team India and hope they make us all proud.”*

On the professional front, Sudhir Yaduvanshi has some exciting new projects lined up, with official announcements expected soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
